It has been an incredibly exciting and successful week for Arad Goch at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, with opportunities to meet audiences, share our work and create exciting theatre and creative experiences for people of all ages.
📆Monday – Arad Goch at the National Library stand
The week got off to a fantastic start with a busy and lively day on the National Library of Wales stand, as part of the “Tu Ôl i’r Llen – Holi a Sgwrsio – Arad Goch” session.
It was a wonderful opportunity for members of the Arad Goch team to meet families, teachers, artists, theatre professionals and members of the public who simply wanted to come along, say hello and find out more about our work.
There were conversations about what is coming up at Arad Goch over the next year, including exciting theatre productions, creative projects, drama clubs, workshops, festivals and opportunities to get involved. It was also a chance to discuss ideas for collaboration and how people could work with or become involved with Arad Goch in the future.
And, of course, the adults weren’t the only ones having fun – children could enjoy a range of fun and creative activities too!
📆Wednesday – Natur draws a huge crowd
On Wednesday, the focus turned to Natur, Arad Goch’s theatre production, which received an incredible response from the audience.
The performance was packed, with an overflowing crowd coming together to experience the show. Seeing so many people enjoying Welsh-language theatre on the Eisteddfod field was a very special moment for the company.
The success of Natur once again demonstrates the appetite for exciting, relevant and accessible theatre for children and families.
📆Friday – Beca’n Galw! brings the week to a spectacular close
And then came the highlight of the week with Beca’n Galw!
On Friday, more than 2,000 people gathered to watch the pinnacle of the project – a lively street theatre production created especially for the Eisteddfod.
The event was the culmination of a project which brought together more than 50 local people to participate and co-create alongside professional performers. This combination of professional talent and local voices gave the production a unique energy, bringing the story of the Merched Beca to life in the heart of the Eisteddfod.
Seeing thousands of people gather to experience the work was an extraordinary moment and a powerful reminder of the ability of theatre to bring communities together, tell stories and give people a voice.

At the end of such a busy week, we would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped make Arad Goch’s Eisteddfod a success – our audiences, local participants, artists, partners, the organising team and everyone who came to talk to us, take part or support our work.
From new conversations and ideas on the National Library stand, to theatre for children and families, and finally thousands of people gathering for Beca’n Galw!, it has been a week that truly demonstrates the importance of theatre, creativity and the Welsh language within our communities.
