The Company, its Vision and its Work

Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch was founded in 1989.

We want to make the best theatre for the best audiences – children, young people and families.
We want our audiences to hear their stories, imagine their dreams, experience their world, wonder think and laugh - through theatre.
Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch is a local, national and international company.
We create innovative and high-standard theatre for and with children and young people.
We provide opportunities for theatre artists to collaborate, investigate and create new exciting work.
Our work celebrates Welsh identity as part of contemporary world culture.

Welsh is the company’s main working language; we operate bilingually in Welsh and English, promoting a multilingual and inclusive language ethos.

The company produces up to 5 productions per year – some for theatres and other venues in Wales and internationally, and others for schools. The company also produces large-scale events and projects like the Far Old Line Festival, the pop-up production Clera, and large-scale musicals like Cysgu’n Brysur.

Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch recognises the importance and benefit of working with other companies and organisations in Wales and further afield. The company has been at the forefront of developing international collaborations with companies, artists and festivals from abroad and by organising Agor Drysau – Opening Doors– Wales’ International Theatre Festival for Young
Audiences. https://agordrysau.cymru/.

Through its performances and participatory activities Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch reaches over 24,000 children and young people annually. Canolfan Arad Goch is also recognised as a creative community centre and it is possible to hire the building for a variety of events.
