Creative Learning

We collaborate with teachers in individual schools or federations to plan and deliver comprehensive bespoke creative learning projects; these participatory projects can address any area of the curriculum, from maths to local history, using a combination of creative skills – theatre, dance, creative writing, art, music, photography, video and digital technology and more. We really enjoy exploring new ideas with teachers and pupils: contact us to discuss ideas.

Examples of creative earning projects

Elfennau (Elements)

A project with Glantwymyn, Llanbrynmair and Carno schools. Over a course of three months, students from the three schools worked together on an exciting project based on the elements – water, air, heat and land. From week to week the children had opportunities to perform, Design and create with the goal of creating a book, with the help and leadership of the artist Elin Vaughan Crowley, the dancer Anna Ap Robert, the poet Anni Llŷn and Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch’s staff.

300/25

A project with Ysgol Griffith Jones School. The main theme of this project was ‘celebration’ as it was 300 years since Griffith Jones, Llanddowror set up his circulating schools and 25 years since Ysgol Griffith Jones opened. A multi-media presentation was produced with the help and expertise of the poet Aneirin Karadog, the artists Lleucu Meinir and Meinir Mathias, the singer and actor Gareth Elis and Cwmni Theatr Arad Goch’s staff.

The Llangunnor Poems

A project with Llangunnor School. The poet Mererid Hopwood, the artists Lleucu Meinir and Meinir Mathias and the actor and director Ioan Hefin worked with staff and 155 key stage 2 pupils to create a new collection of poems in various styles using three languages – Welsh, English and Spanish. These were combined in a multi-media production performed at the School.

The boys have spoken about nothing else for a fortnight! It was absolutely brilliant!

The children gained so much from the experience. They felt that they contributed so much and took ownership of the project.

The children have had so many excellent experiences preparing for the performance. They have learnt so many new skills. They will remember this project for ever!
